An ultimate Herbal cure for all the Heart Diseases

In world heart days we have a brief idea of how to cause heart disease, let us take a look at some common herbal remedies for the prevention of heart disease. I will not talk about vegetables and fruits here, but will mostly talk about herbs and spices that have been proven to reduce the risk of developing heart disease and heart attack.

Some interesting heart disease prevention tips…

1. Garlic

Garlic (Allium sativum) has acquired a strong position in the world of medicinal history as an agent that has many therapeutic benefits. In fact, garlic has a history dating back to Egypt, where it was used to treat conditions such as worms, tumors, and even heart disorders.

Garlic is not only rich in carbohydrates but also contains moderate levels of potassium, for some, phosphorus, zinc, and various nutrients such as vitamins A and B complex.

 2. Green Tea

Time and again, green tea has emerged as the most powerful natural remedy for many diseases. It is well recognized for its high antioxidant content that has the ability to fight harmful free radicals that are responsible for heart disease.

The main antioxidant present in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). It has the ability to combat harmful toxins that arise from many physiological processes and digestion of foods in the body. Not only this, harmful toxins called free radicals are produced when exposed to environmental factors like pollution and smog.

Clinical studies show that drinking 5 to 6 cups of green tea per day provides heart protection capabilities.

3. Ginger

Again, ginger is a common spice used in cuisine in India. Even it is added to tea to make 'masala tea'.

The good news about ginger is that it has many different cardiovascular benefits that have been demonstrated in clinical studies.

In a special study looking at daily ginger consumption, Chinese researchers found that regular intake of ginger decreased the risk of developing hypertension by 8%. In addition, they also found that the risk of coronary artery disease also decreased by about 13%. To recover this benefit, ginger should be consumed 2 to 4 grams per day.

 4. Turmeric

Turmeric is the best natural spice that is abundantly present in Indian cooking. Turmeric contains the active ingredient curcumin which has very powerful properties that can protect the heart muscle.

The benefits of regular turmeric intake as part of your daily diet are not limited to cardiovascular protection alone. Curcumin has been demonstrated in many studies to have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antioxidant properties. Not only this, through its antithrombotic properties it has an effect on blood thinning. A recent study has found that it can improve your memory power and delay memory loss and Alzheimer's disease.

A major part of heart attacks and heart disease is the narrowing of blood vessels i.e. atherosclerosis. As I mentioned earlier in this article, atherosclerosis is a result of underlying inflammation.

Curcumin present in turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce inflammation and atherosclerosis in away. This means that regularly consuming turmeric as part of your diet can save your heart from heart disease.

Taking your daily dose of turmeric is simple. You can sprinkle the required quantity in your curry or add a teaspoon of it to a glass of milk before consuming it.

Clinical studies have also shown that regular use of curcumin in turmeric can disrupt some of the pathways that are responsible for fat and weakening of the heart muscle. Not only that, curcumin can prevent the development of irregular heart rhythm by correcting the amount of calcium entering the heart muscle.

The use of curcumin may be particularly helpful in individuals who are obese or who suffer from a condition called metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome has a spectrum of high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and other problems that are all risk factors in a heart attack.

By eliminating the anti-inflammatory effect, curcumin can protect your heart from premature aging. In one particular study, it has been found that curcumin can reduce triglycerides, a type of fat responsible for coronary artery disease. Not only this, but it can also increase good cholesterol levels i.e. HDL cholesterol. Low energy cholesterol i.e. bad cholesterol levels were also seen.

Finally, curcumin may also reduce the risk of developing heart failure. In heart failure, the heart muscle increases and is unable to function efficiently as a pump. This is particularly relevant in individuals who suffer from type II diabetes. High blood sugar in diabetes can damage the heart muscle by eliminating oxidative stress. Turmeric can be prevented by having curcumin.

In short, turmeric has many health benefits and can specifically protect the heart.

5.Terminalia arjuna

This herb is the major ingredient of total heart support which is useful in the treatment of artery disease heart failure and control high blood pressure and cholesterol levels in the body.

6. Withania somnifera

This herb has excellent properties such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties which help to strengthen the heart muscle.

7.Bacopa monnieri

According to Ayurveda, this herb is useful for controlling high blood pressure in the body which is beneficial for maintaining better heart health.
